Not your regular tractor. This is a Caterpillar 6030 Hydraulic Mining Shovel in its element. The size of a tennis court, this behemoth requires four highway lanes to move around and the same footprint that 16 cars would take. The only element that gives up a scale idea of this yellow mountain is the stairway to the operator cabin that is three stories high above ground. Needless to say, tiny bird with a camera was intimidated, big time. Big jobs, big toys, same ol’ boys.
